Disclaimer
I would like to clarify that this project and article about the Donald Trump Cube were created purely as an artistic endeavor. My intention was not to mock, flout, or express any form of disrespect toward the President or any political figure. In contrary, the project was conceptualized as an exploration of art and creativity, inspired by public figures who have influenced modern history. I hope this project will be appreciated for its craftsmanship and artistic perspective rather than any inferred commentary or criticism.
I chose to 3D print him because of his recognizable figure and because I have much yellow PLA left from my SpongeBob cube. Thank you for understanding and approaching this piece with an open mind.
The Process Explained
The video starts with trimming off the edges and corners of a cheap $2 Chinese Rubik's Cube to bring it to a sphere shape. Next I created base with grey PLA filament. I added the contour and the base of the yellow hair slightly farther from the center of the cube.
I didn't have too much orange plastic I built the face with white and coated it with a thin layer of orange.
The black suit came next with a tilted base.
